Chrysler Test Drive Checklist

IMPORTANT: Always be careful of traffic conditions and safety around the vehicle

Your test vehicle may not be equipped with all safety systems

 Forward Collision Warning (FCW+):

  •  The default status of FCW+ is the Far setting. This means the system will warn you of a possible collision with the vehicle in front of you when you are farther away. This gives you the most reaction time.
  • To change the FCW+ status, press the “Fwd Collision Warning” button and select the “Near” or “Far” button. Press the back arrow/Done button on the touchscreen to return to the previous menu
  • Vehicle speed must be above 1 MPH (2 km/h
  • Ignition must be ON, vehicle is in D (Drive).
  • Verify initial warning is combined audible/visual warning to the driver.
  • Verify second warning is brake jerk combined with audible/visual warnings
  • Verify Final action: System will activate autonomous braking.

Forward Collision Warning-Plus (FCW+) Active Braking — If Equipped:

  • System will apply the brakes to slow your vehicle in case of potential forward collision. The ABA applies additional brake pressure when the driver requests insufficient brake pressure to avoid a potential frontal collision.
  • System becomes active at 5 mph (8 km/h). To change the Active Braking status, press the “Active Braking” button and select the “On” or “Off” button. Press the back arrow/Done button on the touchscreen to return to the previous menu

LaneSense Strength — If Equipped:

  • System sets the strength of the steering wheel feedback for potential lane departures.
  • System can be set at “Low,” “Med” or “High.”
  • To change the LaneSense Strength status, Press the “LaneSense Strength” button and select from the “Low,” “Medium” or “High” buttons. Press the back arrow/Done button on the touchscreen to return to the previous menu.

LaneSense Warning — If Equipped:

  • Verify forward looking camera is not obstructed, damaged or dirty
  • Sets the distance at which the steering wheel will provide feedback for potential lane departures.
  • Sensitivity can be set to provide either an “early,” “medium,” or “late” warning zone start point.
  • To change the LaneSense Warning status, press the “LaneSense Warning” button and select from the “Early,” “Med,” or “Late” buttons. Press the back arrow/Done button on the touchscreen to return to the previous menu
  • Vehicle speed must be above 37 MPH (60 km/h) and below 112 MPH (180 km/h)
  • Verify system issues a visual or haptic warning alert to the driver in case of lane departure 
  • Warning can be vibration in the steering wheel that feels like a virtual “rumble strip”

Blind Spot Alert - If Equipped:

  • The Blind Spot Alert feature can be activated in Lights mode. When this mode is selected, the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system is activated and will only show a visual alert in the outside mirrors.
  • When Lights & Chime mode is activated, the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) will show a visual alert in the outside mirrors as well as an audible alert when the turn signal is on. When Off is selected, the Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system is deactivated.
  • Vehicle speed must be above 37 MPH (60 km/h) and below 112 MPH (180 km/h)
  • Verify system a visual alert in side-view mirror when a target vehicle is located in the blind spot area

Rear Cross Path if Equipped

  • Systemscans for objects behind the vehicle when the transmission shift lever/gear selector is in REVERSE and the vehicle speed is less than 11 mph (18 km/h).
  • Provides an alert (audible and/or visual) to indicate the proximity to other objects

Park Sense (Front and Rear) if Equipped

  • Verify system provides a visual and audible warnings indicating distance between front/rear facia and a detected object when backing up or moving forward
  •  If vehicle is equipped with automatic transmission verify vehicle automatically brakes when performing a reverse parking maneuver.

Park Sense Active Park Assist (Parallel and Perpendicular) if Equipped

  • Verify system assists driver during parallel and perpendicular parking maneuvers by identifying a proper parking space, providing audible/visual instructions, and controlling the steering wheel.
  • Important! ParkSense Active Park Assist system is defined as “semi-automatic” since the driver maintains control of the accelerator, gear selector and brakes.

Surround View Camera

  • Vehicle must be in Reverse with speed less than 8MPH (13km/h)
  • Verify system provides camera video in radio touchscreen
