Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS):

  • Verify front radar transceiver and forward-facing camera are not damaged, blocked or dirty
  • Verify system provides visual, audible and haptic warnings when test vehicle detects a collision when moving forward.
  • Verify the system provides three (3) levels of alerts:
    • STAGE 1
      Verify that if there is a risk of an accident with a vehicle detected ahead system flashes “Brake” warning in the Multi-Information Display.
    • STAGE 2
      Verify that if the risk of an accident increases with no driver reaction, system continues visual and audible alerts, and applies light braking.
    • STAGE 3
      Verify that if the risk of an accident increases with no driver reaction and the system determines that a collision is now unavoidable, system continues visual and audible alerts, plus applies strong braking.

 Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC):

  • Verify vehicle acceleration, deceleration and braking changes with vehicle in front.

 Adaptive Cruise Control w/ LSF (Low Speed Follow):

  • Ensure radar sensors and camera are not damaged, dirty, misaligned or blocked

  • At speeds below 25 MPH (40 km/h) verify acceleration, deceleration and braking with vehicle in front

  • Verify that by pressing the RES/+/SET switch up or down, or with a press of the accelerator pedal, the vehicle resumes low-speed follow mode.

 Blind Spot Information System (BSI):

  • At speeds above 20 MPH (32 km/h) verify system provides visual and audible warnings when vehicles appear in rear and adjacent lanes.
  • Verify radar sensors in the rear bumper are not damaged or covered
  • Verify warning light near the outside rearview mirror alerts the driver to the detected vehicle on that side.
  • Verify when turn signals are activated to indicate a lane change when a vehicle is detected alongside, the system will issue an audible tone as well.

 Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS):

  • Verify camera is not damaged or dirty
  • Drive vehicle on straight or mildly curving roads at speeds of 45–90 mph.
  • Verify that if you steer the vehicle out of a detected lane without using a turn signal, the LKAS system slightly tugs the steering wheel and guides the car to the center of the lane.
  • Verify system keeps vehicle within driving lanes and/or continuous vehicle centering

 Forward Collision Warning (FCW):

  • Verify vehicle responds (slows/stops) when vehicle or object in front of test vehicle

 Lane Watch (LW):

  • Verify vehicle provides visual, audible and haptic warnings when test vehicle approaches or crosses lane markers

 Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning (LDW):

  • Verify windshield-mounted camera is not damaged, dirty or blocked
  • Drive vehicle on straight or mildly curving roads at speeds of 45–90 mph.
  • Verify If the system applies brakes and attempts to steer the vehicle back into the proper lane if vehicle leaves lane with no turn signal activation by the driver, or the vehicle is leaving the road.
  • Road Departure Mitigation52 setting is Normal or Wide: The driver is alerted with a rapid vibration through the steering wheel, the system beeps and a message appears in the MID. Braking may also be applied if the painted lane lines are solid and continuous.
  • Road Departure Mitigation setting is Warning Only: The system beeps and a message appears in the MID.

 Surround View Camera System (SVCS):

  • Verify cameras in the grille, outside mirrors and rear license plate finisher are not damaged or blocked
  • With the transmission in Park or Drive, press the Camera button to select one of the following views:
  • Front ground view
  • Front side view
  • Left and right-side views
  • Verify system provides a sense of distance between the vehicle and surrounding obstacles.
  • Verify system Projects lines that indicate the vehicle’s projected direction of travel relative to the steering wheel’s position.

 Multi-View Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines

  • Verify rear camera image appears on the audio/information screen when the transmission is shifted into Reverse.
  • Verify the different view options; the 130-degree normal view, 175-degree wide view or a top-down view of the parking area.
  • Verify on-screen guidelines show the vehicle’s width
  • Verify dynamic guidelines work when activated and on-screen lines move according to steering angle, projecting the vehicle’s trajectory.

Rear Camera Washer

  • Press the windshield wiper washer button and verify the washer streams cleaning fluid over the rear camera lens.

 Rear Cross Traffic Alert Monitor (RCTA)

  • Verify radar sensors at the rear of vehicle are not damaged to blocked
  • Verify the system generates a tone sounds and an on-screen alert appears in the rear camera monitor when a vehicle is detected coming from the left or right.

 Parking Sensors

  • Verify ultrasonic sensors at the front and rear of vehicle are not damaged to blocked
  • Verify system generates an audible alert and warning icon in the Multi-Information Display (MID) if an obstacle is detected.
  • Ensure alert cadence increases as object gets closer to the vehicle
