BMW ADAS Test Drive Checklist

IMPORTANT:    Always be careful of traffic conditions and safety around the vehicle

                        Your test vehicle may not be equipped with all safety systems

Hill Start Assist (HSA):

• Verify vehicle does not roll back on a hill.
• While in (D)rive disengage the brake and verify vehicle does not roll back

Road Sign Recognition (RSR): 

• Verify vehicle recognizes street road signs and displays data on vehicle display

Emergency Brake Assist (EBA)

• Verify vehicle recognizes vehicle or obstacle ahead and provides acoustic and visual warnings on vehicle display

Steering and Lane Guidance Assist (SLGA):

• Verify system keeps the vehicle in the middle of the lane at all speeds.

Cruise Control (CC):

• Verify system maintains vehicle speed when engaged.

Distance Control (DC)/Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC):

• Verify system orientates to the vehicle ahead and automatically brakes or accelerates depending on the distance from the leading vehicle. 

Speed Limit Assist (SLA):

• Verify system presents information about the speed limit onto the display area
• Verify system controls speed of vehicle based on speed limit signs

Lane Change Warning/Lane Change Assist (LCW/LCA):

• Verify system presents flashing symbols in side-view mirror when vehicle appear in blind spot area.
• Verify system steering wheel vibrates/impulses when vehicle appear in blind spot area.

Parking Assist (PA):

• When in Reverse, verify system displays distance of objects, generate audible beeps and presents suggested guidance lines
