Nissan ADAS Technology Test Drive Checklist

IMPORTANT: Always be careful of traffic conditions and safety around the vehicle

                        Your test vehicle may not be equipped with all safety systems

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)

  • Verify Radar sensor located in the front grille is not damaged
  • Vehicle speed must be greater than 3 MPH/5 km/h or more) to operate
  • Verify system initially presents visual and audible warnings if a forward detection is detected
  • If braking does not occur verify system issues second visual and audible warning and begins applying brakes
  • If collision seems imminent verify system brings vehicle to a stop

Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection

  • Verify Radar sensor located in the front grille is not damaged and the camera located behind the rear-view mirror is not damaged, obstructed or dirty
  • Vehicle speed must be greater than 3 MPH/5 km/h or more) to operate
  • For Pedestrian Detection speed must be between 6-37 mph / 10-60 km/h
  • Verify system initially presents visual (yellow) and audible warnings if a forward detection is detected
  • If braking does not occur verify system issues second visual (FLASHING ,RED and WHITE) and audible warning and begins applying brakes
  • If collision seems imminent verify system brings vehicle to a stop

Intelligent Forward Collision Warning (IFCW)

  • Verify Radar sensor located in the front grille is not damaged
  • Vehicle speed must be greater than 3 MPH/5 km/h or more) to operate
  • Verify system presents a blinking vehicle ahead indicator and an audible alert if there is a potential risk of a front collision

 Blind Spot Warning (BSW) Test

  • Verify BSW radar sensors located near the rear bumper are not damaged
  • Verify BSW system setting can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
  • Turn OFF the ignition switch and wait for 5 seconds or more.
  • Enable BSW through vehicle display
  • Vehicle speed must be greater than 20 MPH/32 km/h or more) to operate
  • Verify system presents indicator light on appropriate side mirror when a vehicle is detected
  • With turn signal on, verify system chimes twice and indicator light on appropriate side mirror FLASHES

 Lane Departure Warning (LDW) Test

  • Verify LDW system setting can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
  • Turn OFF the ignition switch and wait for 30 seconds or more.
  • Enable LDW through vehicle display
  • Vehicle speed must be greater than 37 MPH/60 km/h for LDW to operate
  • Verify system presents an indicator on the dashboard display and steering wheel vibrates when vehicle leaves driving lane

 Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) Test

  • Verify RCTA system setting can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
  • Turn OFF the ignition switch and wait for 30 seconds or more.
  • Check that the previous setting is saved when the engine starts again.
  • Enable RCTA through vehicle display
  • Place vehicle in Reverse
  • Vehicle speed should be 0-5 MPH/8 km/h or more) for RCTA to operate

 Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI)

  • Verify I-LI system setting can be enabled/disabled by pressing the blue Pro Pilot Assist button on the steering wheel
  • Turn OFF the ignition switch and wait for 30 seconds or more.
  • Check that the previous setting is saved when the engine starts again.
  • Steer vehicle close to lane markers, look for Orange LDW indicator flashing on dash, steering wheel vibration and slight braking until vehicle corrects itself
  • Vehicle speed must be greater than 37 MPH/60 km/h for I-LI to operate

 Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC)

  • Verify Radar sensor located in the front grille is not damaged
  • Vehicle speed should be between 20 MPH (32 km/h) and 90 MPH (144 km/h)
  • Verify vehicle accelerates and decelerates with vehicle ahead
  • Verify system generates a chime and vehicle ahead indicator blinks if there is rapid deceleration of vehicle ahead

 Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) Pro-Pilot Assist

  • Verify Radar sensor located in the front grille is not damaged and the camera located behind the rear-view mirror is not damaged, obstructed or dirty
  • Vehicle speed should be 20 MPH (32 km/h) or more.
  • Verify vehicle accelerates and decelerates with vehicle ahead
  • At speeds greater than 37 mph/60 km/h verify Steering Assist keeps vehicle within the traveling lane
  • Verify Pro Pilot Assist lane marker and Steering Assist indicators appear in display
  • Verify vehicle accelerates and decelerates with vehicle ahead
  • Verify system generates a chime and vehicle ahead indicator blinks if there is rapid deceleration of vehicle ahead

 Intelligent Around View Monitor (IAVW)

  • Verify cameras in the front grille, side mirrors and above rear license plate are not damaged, obstructed or dirty
  • Verify system provides five (5) views, Front, Rear, Birds-Eye, Front-side and Rear Wide.
  • Verify system guidelines displayed on dashboard monitor change from green to yellow and then to red as objects get closer to vehicle

 Moving Object Detection (MOD)

  • Verify cameras in the front grille, side mirrors and above rear license plate are not damaged, obstructed or dirty
  • Vehicle speed must be below 6 mph/10 km/h
  • Vehicle must be in Drive or Reverse
  • Verify system generates a chime and presents a yellow frame when an object is detected

 Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR)

  • Verify camera located in front of rear-view camera is not damaged, obstructed or dirty
  • Verify system presents speed limit and Do Not pass signs are detected

 Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)

  • Verify radar sensors located near the rear bumper are not damaged
  • Vehicle speed must be below 5 mph/8 km/h
  • Verify system chimes and side RCTA indicator FLASHES on side the vehicle is approaching from
  • Sensors should be able to detect approaching vehicles from up to 66 ft/20M away

 Hands On Detection (HOD)

  • With Steering Assist enabled and hands-off steering wheel verify the following
    • Warning appears in display
    • Audible alert and flashing warning in display appears If hands are not returned to steering wheel
    • A quick braking occurs
    • Finally, hazards automatically start and vehicle slows to a stop

 Rear Automatic Braking (RAB)

  • Verify sensors located in the rear bumper are not damaged
  • Place vehicle in reverse at a speed less than 9 mph/15 km/h
  • When an object is identified verify system presents FLASHING warning indicator in dash, and frame appears in center display (with Around View Monitor), system chimes three times and then automatically applies brakes

 Intelligent Driver Alertness (IDA)

  • At speeds greater than 37 mph/60 km/h verify system presents a message in the dash display and generates a chime if the system detects driver fatigue or loss of attention

 Rear Sonar System (RSS)

  • Verify sensors located in the rear bumper are not damaged
  • Place vehicle in reverse at a speed less than 6 mph/10 km/h
  • Verify system generates a beep when an obstacle is detected
  • Verify system indicators change colors from green to yellow to red and tone sounds continuously as object get closer
