Volvo ADAS Test Drive Checklist

IMPORTANT: Always be careful of traffic conditions and safety around the vehicle

                        Your test vehicle may not be equipped with all safety systems

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS)

• Verify BLIS system setting can be enabled/disabled through the center display
• Vehicle speed must be greater than 6 MPH/10 km/h or more) to operate and vehicles must be approaching test vehicle from rear and side blind spot
• Verify Indicator lamp lights up in appropriate mirror and BLIS warning appears in center display

Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)

• Verify ACC system setting can be enabled/disabled through steering wheel controls
• Driver’s seatbelt must be buckled
• Vehicle speed must be greater than 9MPH/15 km/h
• Verify vehicle accelerates and decelerates with vehicle ahead
• Verify system presents distance bars in center of speedometer

Distance Warning (DW)

• Vehicle speed must be greater than 20MPH/30 km/h
• Verify system generates visual warning in heads up display when distance between vehicle ahead is too short

City Safety in Cross Traffic

• Vehicle speed must be greater than 3MPH/4 km/h
• Other vehicle must cross in front of test vehicle
• Verify system presents “City Safety was Activated” message

Cross Traffic Alert (CTA)

• Place vehicle in Reverse
• Vehicle speed should be 0-5 MPH/8 km/h or more) for CTA to operate
• Verify CTA system generates an audible sound in the speaker on the side where object is identified
• Verify Icon illuminates in center display
• Verify that icon appears on the Park Assist camera top

Driver Alert Control (DAC)

• Vehicle speed must be greater than 40MPH/65 km/h
• Verify system identifies erratic driving and generates an audible warning plus a coffee cup icon in driver display with a message, “Time for a Break soon?”

Departure Warning (LDW)

• Verify LDW system setting can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
• Vehicle speed must be between 40 MPH/65 km/h and 125 MPH/ 200 km/h for LDW to operate
• Verify system generates an audible warning and/or steering wheel vibration when vehicle leaves marked lane

Lane Keeping Aid (LKA)

• Verify LDW system setting can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
• Vehicle speed must be between 40 MPH/65 km/h and 125 MPH/ 200 km/h for LDW to operate
• Verify system generates an audible warning and/or steering wheel vibration when vehicle leaves marked lane
• Verify system steers vehicle back into lane when vehicle leaves marked lane

Park Assist (PA)

• Verify PA system setting can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
• Verify system generates audible sounds in speakers and graphics in center display when system identifies obstacles
• Reverse sensors should activate approximately 5 FT/1.5 m from obstacle
• Side sensors should activate at speeds below 6MPH/10 km/h and when obstacle is 1FT/.3 m
• Forward sensors should activate approximately 2.5 FT/.8 m from obstacle

Park Assist Camera (PAC)

• Verify PAC can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
• Verify Lines, Towbar, PAS, CTA and Zoom controls operate

Active Park Assist (APA)

• Verify APS system can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
• Vehicle speed must be below 20 MPH/ 30 km/h
• Select “Park In” and verify system can identify a parking spot
• Verify system automatically can park vehicle in parallel or perpendicular positions
  • Select Parallel or Perpendicular parking options to initiate

Road Sign Information (RSI)

• Verify RSI system can be enabled/disabled through the vehicle information display.
• Verify system provides warning symbol in driver display when posted speed is exceeded
• Verify system provides audible warning when posted speed is exceeded or vehicle approaches “no-entry” entrance

Pilot Assist (PA)

• Verify PA system can be enabled/disabled through the steering wheel controls
• System works best at vehicle speed below 30 MPH/ 50 km/h
• Verify system keeps vehicle in lane AND vehicle accelerates and decelerates with vehicle ahead
• Verify system presents two symbols in vehicle information display
• Verify system presents collision risk warning in Heads Up Display
